INCENTIVES AND EARNED PRIVILEGES

HMP Rye Hill aims to provide a safe and humane environment, where prisoners will have the opportunity to address their offending behaviour and take part in constructive activities as they work towards their successful release from custody. They will have an individual sentence plan detailing their personal development needs and targets. By working together with staff, HMP Rye Hill aims to demonstrate that custody can be a constructive experience providing an opportunity for positive change.

HMP Rye Hill operates an Incentives & Earned Privileges Scheme with four levels: Basic, Standard, Enhanced 1 and Enhanced 2. Progression to the highest level is achieved by prisoners' sustained commitment to the prison regime, the sentence management process and their participation in the voluntary drugs testing programme. Failure to comply in any of these area leads to a review of their status within the scheme.
